T H E  B R I E F
The task was to create a hand-held product, able to be injection-molded. The product was designed to have multiple parts that supported the rules of manufacture (creating the mold and forming the parts).
I D E A T I O N
I chose the facial exfoliator as it would require water-proofing, moving parts and multiple snaps. This would enable to develop my skills in the Soliworks program. All standard components were created (battery hold, motor and switch), but other elements were modeled and measured based off sketches. I called the product GLO.
C R I T I Q U E  T  O  R E S U L T
The final product had an effective seal against the elements. All parts were created to support injection-molding. Although, a few internal supports could have been crafted slightly differently to simplify the manufacturing process. Overall, I am very happy with the result.
